The 'Prometheus' sequel pays tribute to the original series and teases the returns of familiar face and creature in the scary trailer.
"Alien: Covenant" debuts a first red-band trailer. It offers a glimpse at a shower scene that is a reminiscent of an iconic scene from the original series. Instead of showing a sexy moment, it ends up in a bloody mess. It also sees the return of the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender) and the infamous Facehugger.
The sequel to 2012's "Prometheus" follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. They discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
The movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 19, 2017. Ridley Scott returns as a director while Noomi Rapace and Guy Pearce are back as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and Peter Weyland respectively. It also adds Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Billy Crudup and James Franco.
