The 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' actor has topped the list of Hollywood's most overpaid actors for the second year in a row.
Johnny Depp has been named the most overpaid actor in Hollywood for the second year in a row. The "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" actor has topped the annual list of Forbes' most overpaid actors again this year after earning the least-wanted title in 2015.
Depp returned about $2.80 for each dollar he was paid, according to the magazine. Major movie putting Depp in his position presumably was "Alice Through the Looking Glass", which only bagged $77.1 million domestically compared to the original "Alice in Wonderland" 's $334.2 million domestic gross.
Placing second was Will Smith. Having a similarly poor run at the box office, he returned $5 for every dollar he was paid. His drama "Concussion" grossed $48 million worldwide for Sony on its budget of $35 million, while "Focus" generated $160 million globally on a $50 million budget.
Rounding out the top five were Channing Tatum, Will Ferrell and George Clooney. Tatum's most recent movies returned about $6.50 for each $1 he was paid, while Ferrell returned $6.50 for every dollar he earned. As for Clooney, he returned $6.70 for each $1 he was paid.
