The reality dating series is getting an aftershow called 'Watch Party', which will feature celebrities, comedians, super fans and former Bachelors and Bachelorettes as panelists.
Disney-ABC Television Group has signed a deal to make several shows for Snapchat. The first show to come is called "Watch Party: The Bachelor", which is a watch-party aftershow for "The Bachelor" season 21 starring Nick Viall.
The Snapchat show consists of 10 episodes and one Live Story. It will debut on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 on Snapchat dicover section, right after the premiere of the new season of the reality dating series. Each episode is expected to run 3-5 minutes and will be available for 24 hours on Snapchat.
The aftershow will feature celebrities, comedians, super fans and "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" alums as they hang out, eat snacks, crack jokes and hilariously react to the crazy, wild and romantic storylines in the latest episode of "The Bachelor".
This is not the first time Disney-ABC Television Group partnered up with Snap Inc. Earlier this year, Snapchat aired a very successful Oscars Live story. Snap Inc. vice president Nick Bell said, "Disney-ABC have rewritten the rules for how to develop daring, fun and adventurous series for TV, mastering formats ranging from scripted to reality and drama to comedy. They will be a vital partner as we continue to expand our lineup of shows on Discover and we're excited to kick off 2017 by bringing one of their most beloved brands to Snapchat."
Meanwhile, John Frelinghuysen, Disney-ABC Television Group boss, said in a press release, "With the upcoming 'Watch Party: The Bachelor' we look forward to working together with Snapchat to not only reach Bachelor fans in an entirely new way, but to also provide our advertising partners with even more opportunities."
"The Bachelor" kicks off the new season on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 8 P.M. ET on ABC.
