The 'Fancy' rapper is expected to appear in court after American Express sued her for failing to pay off her $300,000 balance.
It's been a tough year for Azalea, who voiced her frustrations over her upcoming album "Digital Distortion". After Def Jam CEO Steve Bartels said that he wanted to hold off releasing new singles for the album, now the release date of "Digital Distortion" has been stuck in the purgatorial state called "coming soon." On July 8, Azalea opened up about the status of her upcoming album. "Steve Bartels says he doesn't want to release another single for my album unfortunately. So that's that," she wrote on her official Twitter account.

Her misery did not end there. Her tour was canceled due to the outline backlash over cultural misappropriation and disrespect. She also broke up with NBA guard Nick Young even though they were already engaged. Moreover, her debut full length album, "The New Classic", was pushed back several times after singles such as "Team" and "Mo' Bounce" failed to receive the same amount of success as "Fancy". She was also supposed to be releasing a music video for her collaboration with Brazilian singer Anitta. However, "Switch" music video was leaked and resulted in the cancellation of the release.
The only thing that's gone right for her is signing a modeling contract with Wilhelmina, though it's clear as day that the revenue of the modeling job is not in the same level as the revenue that she gets for her tour.
Let's hope that her upcoming album will finally get its release date and help balance out her debt.
