Watch Gwen Stefani Belt Out 'Under the Christmas Lights' on 'Tonight Show'

The 48-year-old songstress also revealed on the show that she was inspired to write track 'Christmas Eve' when she was jogging at Blake Shelton's ranch in Oklahoma.

Gwen Stefani kicked off the holiday season on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" by performing her Christmas track "Under the Christmas Lights". Wrapped up in a black dress and red stockings, the "Hollaback Girl" songstress belted out the track along with a live band and two backing vocals.

"When it's cold outside, put your arms around me/ And we'll count down to December twenty five/ I thank God I got you 'cause you're all that I need," she rhymed. "Under the Christmas lights/ Baby, you and I/ Under the Christmas lights."

"Under the Christmas Lights" is one of the tracks off Gwen's Christmas album "You Make It Feel Like Christmas", which was released on October 6. The 48-year-old songstress, who embarked on a solo pop career in 2004, revealed on the show that releasing a Christmas album had always been her dream as she wanted to be a part of people's memories of holiday.

"I've always wanted - I think every writer would fantasize about writing a Christmas hit because it's kind of that thing that comes back," she shared. "And I think also, like, when you write songs and you're part of people's journey like through your music that you write - to write and be part of their holiday and their memories for that part, I mean, musically, would be like my dream."

Gwen also admitted that she was inspired to write the track "Christmas Eve" when she was jogging at her boyfriend Blake Shelton's ranch in Oklahoma, calling it a Christmas miracle song. "I started thinking about - If I wrote a Christmas song, what could it be?" she continued. "But I was running and I just was like, 'Ooh, maybe I'll just try singing something. Maybe something will come.' And the whole chorus to this song came and it was like a prayer."
