'Gotham' Adds James Remar as Mysterious Frank Gordon

The 'Dexter' alum is heading to Gotham city to recur as Frank Gordon in the third season of FOX's Batman origin series.

James Remar is the next star coming to "Gotham". The actor is cast in a recurring role of Frank Gordon, the mysterious and estranged uncle to Jim Gordon (Benjamin McKenzie).

Based on the official character description, "Frank is a master at playing both sides and a man who knows how to keep a secret. Frank Gordon abandoned the family after Jim's father fatal car crash and now, twenty-five years later, he's returned to reconnect with his estranged nephew. But Frank harbors a dark secret, one that will upset the very foundations of Jim's world and force him into a terrible choice between saving his family and saving his city."

Remar's character will start appearing on "Gotham" in early 2017.

Remar is known for his roles as Harry Morgan on "Dexter and as James Evans on "Grey's Anatomy". He recently appeared on CBS' "Code Black" and will be seen in the upcoming second season of Hulu's "The Path".

The next episode of "Gotham", which is titled "Mad City: Beware the Green-Eyed Monster", will air on November 28 at 8 P.M. on FOX. As the virus begins to spread in Gotham, the laboratory that is developing a cure is compromised. Mario (Daniel Stewart Sherman) and Gordon face off before the wedding, Selina (Camren Bicondova) meets an unexpected face and Barbara (Erin Richards) comes to Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) with information about Isabella (Chelsea Spack).
