Jeezy's 'Trap or Die 3' debuts at No. 1 on the chart, marking the third No. 1 album and the eighth consecutive top 10 for the 'Soul Survivor' hitmaker.
Jeezy a.k.a. Young Jeezy leads this week's list of Billboard 200. His latest studio album "Trap or Die 3" has debuted at the top spot of the chart, earning him his third No. 1 album and eighth consecutive top 10, with a little more than 89,000 units in the week ending November 3, according to Nielsen Music. The number includes 73,000 in traditional album sales.
Jeezy last posted his No. 1 album in 2008 with his third studio album "The Recession". His previous set, "Church in These Streets", debuted and peaked at No. 4 on the chart in 2015. His other top 10 releases include 2005's "Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101" (No. 2), 2006's "The Inspiration" (No. 1), 2011's "Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition" (No. 3) and 2014's "Seen It All: The Autobiography" (No. 2).
Jeezy's "Trap or Die 3" narrowly defeated Kenny Chesney's "Cosmic Hallelujah" after the two spent most of the tracking week vying for No. 1. Chesney's newest set debuts at No. 2 with just under 89,000 units (79,000 in traditional album sales). It marks Chesney's 12th consecutive charting album to debut inside the top four of the Billboard 200.
At No. 3 is another newcomer, Meek Mill's mixtape album "DC4", with 87,000 units (45,000 in traditional album sales). Avenged Sevenfold's surprise release "The Stage" enters the chart at No. 4 with 76,000 units (72,000 in traditional album sales).
Last week's champion, Lady GaGa's "Joanne", plunges to No. 5 in its second week with another 61,000 units (down 70%). Pentatonix's "A Pentatonix Christmas" also drops some slots from No. 3 to No. 6 with 41,000 units (down 32%).
Drake's "Views" falls to No. 7 with 36,000 units (down 6%), after spending 26 weeks in the top 5. The "Suicide Squad" soundtrack drops one spot to No. 8 with 28,000 units (down 10%). The "Hamilton" soundtrack also slips a spot to No. 9 with 26,000 units (down 14%), while Michael Buble's "Nobody But Me" dips from No. 2 to No. 10 with 25,000 units (down 73%).
