The Academy Award winner releases an up-tempo song taken from the original soundtrack for the forthcoming biographical drama film 'Hidden Figures'.
Pharrell Williams dropped an up-tempo song called "Crave" on Wednesday, November 16. The song features plenty of hand clapping, guitar riff and trumpet blasts alongside Pharrell's wide vocal range.
"Crave" is a single taken from the original soundtrack album for the upcoming film "Hidden Figures". The song serves as one of eight songs that Pharrell has contributed to the project. The Academy Award winner also produced the film along with Donna Gigliotti, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Theodore Melfi.
During a Facebook Live Q&A with "Hidden Figures" cast members, Pharrell said that this film holds a special place in his heart. "I also want all the young girls regardless to what color you are, I want you to see this film and recognize that not only can you do it, but it's actually already been done," Pharrell said.
Pharrell has previously released two other songs from the sountrack album, "Runnin' " and "Surrender". The soundtrack album is due out on December 9, while the film hits theaters across the U.S. on Christmas.
"Hidden Figures" is a biographical drama based on Margot Lee's nonfiction book. The film is about three black women working at NASA during the Space Race. Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monae lead the cast which also includes Kirsten Dunst, Kevin Costner and others.
