Justin Bieber finishes 2016 on top after being named as Vevo's Top Artist of the Year. He sets a new record as his videos have received over 6.3 billion views collectively on the video hosting platform throughout this year.
Vevo took to Twitter on Friday, December 23 to announce the honor. "Congrats to @justinbieber, our top artist of 2016 with a record six billion views on Vevo! [clapping hands emoji] #Beliebers," so Vevo tweeted. Later on, Bieb's manager, Scooter Braun, retweeted it with a congratulatory note.

According to Vevo, Bieber has 4 videos above one billion views each. The singer-songwriter has three videos in the list of top 10 most-watched Vevo videos this year. His "Sorry" tops the global list with more than 1.8 billion views, while "What Do You Mean?" and "Love Yourself" bow at No. 5 and No. 6 respectively on the list.
Earlier this month, Bieber nabbed top two songs on Billboard Hot 100 chart with "Love Yourself" and "Sorry" off his fourth studio album "Purpose", becoming only the third artist in the chart's 58-year history to score its year-end top two song. In 2004, Usher scored his top two songs with "Yeah!" featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris, and "Burn", while British band The Beatles topped 1964's year-end list with "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You".
