There is no certain air date yet, but the upcoming crossover events between the ABC shows will air later this spring.
Both actress teased the crossover on Wednesday morning, January 3, by posting on Instagram photos from the set of the other's show. Kerry, who stars as Olivia on "Scandal", posted a snap of her character sitting on a bench outside the courtroom on the "How to Get Away With Murder" set. "Hey Ms @violadavis. Check it out. This spot look familiar?! Where are you?" she captioned the photo.
Viola responded with a photo of herself in full Annalise outfit. Annalise could be seen in the Oval Office set of "Scandal". Viola wrote in the caption, "Hey @KerryWashington, guess where I am?!"
Shonda Rhimes later confirmed that the crossover's "happening." Taking to her Twitter account, the producer shared a picture of the script. "People. It's happening. @petenowalk, you ready for this? #TGITCrossover #HowtoGetAwaywithScandal," she teased.

While stars of "Scandal" and "How to Get Away With Murder" have appeared together at TGIT publicity events multiple times, the upcoming event will be the first time for both shows to stage a crossover. To further add enthusiasm, the "Scandal" crossover episode will be helmed by series star Tony Goldwyn. There is no certain air date yet for the crossover, but Deadline states it will air later this spring.
"Scandal" is currently in its seventh and final season, and is set to return on Thursday, January 18 at 9 P.M. on ABC. Meanwhile, "How to Get Away With Murder" returns for season 4 on the same day at 10 P.M.
